Last on MOTD - '97 remembered

More good stuff from Mike Whalley at World of Sport. Fulham are building a comfortable lead in the race to be crowned Gubbometer champions. The '97 encounter against Wigan at the Cottage was one of our biggest games that season. I still remember the eruption of delight as Mark Blake slotted home an 82nd minute penalty that levelled the scores and rescued a point. Coincidentally, Wigan's midfield that day featured the talents of Roberto Martinez, an excellent player and key factor in Wigan's success. Martinez is of course now manager of Swansea City who we face in the F.A. Cup next weekend.

Of course you were last on MOTD, you were playing us! We seem to suffer more than most clubs in terms of [the lack of] media coverage (something I'm guessing you lot probably have to put up with in comparison to the other London clubs) and seem to be battling it out with Boro to have the most number of 'last on MOTD's to our name.

Roberto Martinez is indeed a genius, and I reckon he will manage us one day.

Cheers,

MB

I'm actually enjoying being last on MOTD now. It seems something to aspire to seeing that we're never going to be the main game very often. Surprised by Mike's comment that between us we've featured in every last game this season. I reckon we've got it in the bag thanks to our penchant for 0-0 draws. Looking forward to seeing how well Martinez has the Swans playing - good luck with the rest of the season, we'll race you for a European spot!

Good morning,

I am contacting you from a website for which I run the football editorial for. We have just set up a project where we are attempting to get supporters from every football team up and down the country to provide us with information about their ground...everything from getting there to the burgers you get at hlaf time. We are also appointing bloggers for each team so that other fans can be updated on happenings in the club. We're not here to draw users away from your community- if you contribute we will set up your page with links to the site and would only be looking for an update every now and then.

Please take a look at where we are at at the moment www.webjam.com/football_channel the club review links to the surveys. We already have Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester City and Crawley Town writers ready to go.

Do get in touch with me if you are interested in being part of this.

Thanks for your time.
